About Us
The Lagunitas Waldorf-Inspired Program offers a challenging and enriching curriculum designed to provide students with an outstanding liberal arts experience, one which truly integrates all facets of learning: academic, emotional, physical, artistic, social, and ethical.
Our program is dedicated to the education of the whole human being— “head, heart and hands”— and nurturing each child’s full potential. Our goal is for students to become self-motivated, competent and life-long learners. The Waldorf-Inspired Program is based on the curriculum and methodologies originally researched by Dr. Rudolf Steiner and further developed in over 750 Waldorf and Waldorf-inspired schools around the globe. These methodologies have been successfully adopted in over twenty Waldorf-inspired public schools in California over the past twelve years.
Our teachers engage the children’s imagination in the early years in order to build a foundation for abstract thinking in the upper grades. The academic curriculum is primarily presented through the arts: drawing, painting, music, literature and storytelling, drama, and movement. This model of education through the arts awakens imagination and creativity, bringing vitality and wholeness to learning. We strive to impart an experience of wonder, reverence, and enthusiasm for learning in each child.
