Welcome

The Lagunitas Waldorf-Inspired Program is a learning community created through the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, parents, staff, and friends of the school and program. This is a unique educational experience for your child in that it addresses the whole child: “head, heart, and hands.” Our program is based on the curriculum and methodologies originally researched by Dr. Rudolf Steiner and incorporated and further developed in over 950 Waldorf and Waldorf-inspired schools around the globe – the largest independent school movement in the world. The Lagunitas Waldorf-Inspired Program offers a challenging and enriching curriculum designed to provide students with an outstanding liberal arts experience, one which truly integrates all facets of learning: academic, emotional, physical, artistic, social, and ethical.

The Lagunitas Waldorf-Inspired Program is part of a unique public school in one of the nation's most progressive school districts: the Lagunitas School District in San Geronimo, California. The Lagunitas School District is composed of two campuses, San Geronimo School (upper campus) and Lagunitas School (lower campus). The district is unique in that it offers parents a choice among three educational programs for elementary-aged children. The Waldorf-Inspired Program (kindergarten-fourth grade in 2008-09) and the Open Classroom (kindergarten-sixth grade) are housed at the San Geronimo Campus. The Public Montessori Program (kindergarten-fifth grade) is located on the Lagunitas Campus. The Lagunitas Middle School, located on the lower campus, serves grades six through eight.
